About our History Society

high street

Our society is a friendly group of residents of Cherry Hinton and beyond, sharing an interest in the history of Cherry Hinton and surrounding areas and memories of living here. We have ten meetings a year with a talk given by a guest speaker on historical subjects, often but not always, with a local context. The society also arranges excursions. Please see the programme lists (links at left) for a flavour of what we do.

We meet here in the Church Centre at 7.30pm on the last Monday of most months. A talk is followed by questions, coffee, lots of chat and a raffle to help the society's funds.

Membership for 2023 costs £10 for single members and £18 for couples. Guest membership for anyone who would just like to attend one talk is £2-50.

On Monday 27th February we had an interesting talk on the Denny Abbey and Farm Museum by Christine Easterfield. We also hope to arrange an excursion later in the year to visit.
